Kuài pǎo (Kuài pǎo is chinese and means "run fast“)
In this body of work, I am introducing Bo Bei, my daughter. Bo Bei was born in China, her mum hails from the United States and me "Baba" from Germany. Despite being adopted and visually impaired, Bo Bei's resilience knows no bounds. In her seven eventful years on this planet, she embarked on a journey that took her from China to Germany and eventually to the United States. Every day, she fearlessly faces new adventures in the South of the US, triumphing over the challenges of adoption and navigating life with a visual impairment. This series is mainly for me. It helps me to emotionally process my family dynamics and is a tool for me to be present as a father. I also like the thought, that one day someone picks up my book and gets totally hooked on adoption and the treasures that can be found in family - however that is defined and found.
